Getting Ready to See Elijah Wood

Well, it's Thursday evening and many people haven't a clue that tonight the US Premier of an undistributed Elijah Wood film occurs along with a special cast party. Green Street Hooligans, a film about violence inherent at British Football games and the rivalries of the various firms, opens today at the Regal Union Square 14. Many diehard fans signed petitions and peddled about until the filmaker themselves decided to release the film on a limited basis and call on us fans (Hoolifans) to get the word out to the hinterlands. I have already been pushing here in Allentown PA.

My one sorrow is that I will miss the Premier. Although I have pushed hard to get the word out and will attend the first day's showing tomorrow in NY (a good 150 mile trek - 1st leg, to NJ, completed), there were many others more worthy of the special reward of an invite. Bless them. We owe them this film here in the US. My hope is that Elijah Wood, who will be at the Premier tonight, will linger and visit with his fans tomorrow afternoon and early evening at the theater. But in the words of Stephen King (The Dark Tower), "If God wills it, there will be water."

I will see the film twice tomorrow as I mean to write a review for my Elijah Wood site - Elijah Wood Performer for Our Time I have been writing reviews, critiques and trivia/notes on some 30 + Elijah Wood films. Some of those articles will most likely end up here on my blog spot.

My adventure in New York tomorrow will be recounted here sometime this weekend. I am originally a New Yorker (Brooklyn - Yeah), and maneuver in the city quite well, but jockeying in from Sayreville, NJ during rush hour makes it a fun challenge for a 58 year old diabetic with half-vision. (Is that why you're seeing Green Street Hooligans twice, Ed - one for each eye?) No, once for me - and once, dear reader, for you.

The best is yet to come. From the heart and "if God wills it, there will be" Elijah on line at the Regal Union 14 tomorrow at 1:55 or 4:40. Yeah!

A Fresh New Day

It is with hope and light I start this Blog project to say hello to my supporters and well-wishers. I am a writer (I live to write), who would very much like to write to live and someday that may happen. But until that time, I pump out a variety of creative paragraphs—some short and snappy, others long and winding. I tell stories (novels, novellas and a short fiction), which is nothing more than creative lying. But I also write poetry, web content, life experiences and have this perchant to review and critique the films and performances of Elijah Wood. So, on any given day, you might find a wide spectrum of commentary, lunacy, fantasy, poetry, some wild-ass Gay thing and maybe even a picture of a larch. Who can tell? Stop in tomorrow and see.
